Inspired by historic manufacturers, we’ve revived the art of producing porcelain enamel lighting, a time-honored process that fell out of use when faster, cheaper finishing techniques came onto the market. Barn Light Electric remains the only company in the United States crafting and producing porcelain enamel lighting.
Our porcelain enamel lighting collection is well suited to hotels, restaurants, retail stores, and other busy commercial spaces thanks to its durable, high-gloss finish that will never fade. Beginning with a flat disk of solid steel, our artisans hand spin the metal on a lathe into the desired shape. From there, more hands prep the shades then apply multiple coats of porcelain enamel glass in the customer’s choice of finish color. Shades are fired in our 1,500-degree oven which seals the glass to the shade for a brilliant finish. Easy to customize to complement any hotel brand or décor, our handmade lighting for hotels are built to last. Custom colors and customizing options are also available for larger commercial projects.
