WATSONVILLE, Calif. (June 26, 2023) – Annieglass, proudly celebrating 40 years of iconic handmade luxury glass tableware and statement home decor pieces, has unveiled a stunning, first-of-its-kind anniversary platter at two top markets this summer. The platter was showcased at the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market from June 20 to 27, and will take center stage at the Atlanta Summer 2023 Market from July 11 to 17.
Handcrafted, signed and numbered by noted California artist Annie Morhauser, who founded Annieglass in 1983, the platter represents the culmination of 40 years of passionate design, stewardship and dedication to the art of glass making. The inspiration for Morhauser’s signature 40th anniversary platter is her storied journey from student to struggling artist, to raising children while growing her company and, finally, the challenges of being a successful businesswoman in the male-dominated world of glass making and manufacturing.
“This year marks a big milestone for Annieglass and we decided to create something larger than life and incredibly special to represent 40 remarkable years,” Morhauser explained. “I used layers of gold and platinum to showcase the richness of our journey and the intrinsic value Annieglass has for the many people we’ve touched over four decades.”
The 40th anniversary Annieglass platter will be available in a limited edition of eight pieces and comes with a custom-made steel stand for displaying this dramatic statement piece. It will retail for $2,400.
Atlanta show attendees will also get a first look at the new Annieglass Mosaic Fall 2023 Collection of chargers, platters and bowls with an intricate border design reminiscent of tesserae, the tiny squares used in Italian medieval mosaics. The detailed pattern in 24K gold is noted for its unique style and timeless appeal.
All Annieglass pieces are skillfully handcrafted at the company’s Watsonville, California, studio using a unique glass slumping process that invigorates the ancient craft of glassmaking with cutting-edge technology. Each item is a one-of-a-kind keepsake to cherish for years to come.
