From April 18 to 23, Uultis, the high-end furniture brand of the Herval Group (Dois Irmãos/RS, Brazil), presented its new releases at the 61st Salone del Mobile 2023, in Milan, Italy. Uultis brought to Salone del Mobile, a fair recognized as one of the world’s leading international design events, furniture that carries the brand’s DNA: a combination of Brazilian raw materials and design. Uultis participated in the event through the Brazilian Furniture Project, promoted by Abimóvel and Apex-Brasil.
In its fifth participation in the Salone del Mobile, Uultis presented more than ten novelties of the brand. Among the highlights was the Dolomites Dining Table, signed by Studio+Ah!, which features an iconic design based on solid wood, inspired by the famous Dolomites region, a rocky mountain range in northern Italy, recognized by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) as a world heritage site.
Another new piece that the brand presented at Salone was the Olga Chair, developed by Aciole Felix. The piece brings together modern traits and irreverent design for bold projects. In a perfect combination, wood and upholstery come together to create a clean and contemporary atmosphere. The Dash sofa, which was also presented at the event, was designed by Studio+Ah! and has pure design values, striking shapes, and lines. The wooden feet embrace the lines of the upholstery, making this piece truly unique. The Tre coffee table, designed by Sérgio Batista, is robust and has a strong appeal to the union of wood with natural stone and straw. The piece is, in addition to functional, contemporary. The coffee table presents itself with the possibility of protagonism in the room, which is usually occupied by the upholstery.
Another novelty was the Bilro armchair, which is inspired by the bobbin lace – an important element of Brazilian culture. Signed by Estudio Uultis, the piece has unique characteristics and details handcrafted with noble materials that represent a rich national cultural baggage. Uultis also highlighted new finishes: Knit mesh and marble.
In addition to the product launches, Uultis brought new finishes to the 2023 Salone del Mobile. One of them is Knit fabric, which is now part of the brand’s material palette. This fabric is manufactured in three dimensions using knitting techniques to create a technological material that allows the use of seams, in addition to avoiding waste and providing high elasticity. The mesh is still a breathable and high-strength fabric, which contributes to more comfortable products with a longer shelf life.
Following the trends of the market, which bets on natural materials, Uultis has also included the use of marble stone finishes in its material palette. One of the finishes that was presented was the Paraná White marble, which stands out for how easily it combines with other elements of decoration, adding resistance and natural touch of the stone. Another option included in the Uultis catalog is Kouros Black Marble.
About Uultis: created in 2016, Uultis, in Latin, means desire, hence the inspiration for the creation of the brand: a piece of furniture with soul, which translates to the contemporary desire to live well. The company combines the delicacy of the handmade finish and natural textures with the high technology and productive capacity of the Herval Group, one of the largest furniture manufacturers in Brazil. Currently, the Group exports its furniture to more than 15 countries and has a showroom in Miami (USA).
