Our quest to use less materials and fewer production techniques leads to crisp designs, without losing sight of their functionality and personality. We do not use glue in our designs and only MDF. We look for witty solutions and having fun doing so drives our creative process.

About us

We are Van Tjalle en Jasper: an independent design label from The Netherlands. Our workshop is located in Amsterdam to be exact. From there we design and create clever unique lighting for hotels. Why? Because there is nothing we like doing more than designing. And because we want to make people’s homes and lives a little more pleasant with our products!

We work hard to keep it simple

We challenge ourselves to make products with crisp designs that are as simple and effective as possible. To achieve this, we really try to get to the heart of a problem. The result of our “Naked Design”-philosophy are that our unique lighting for hotels products are manufactured with less material and fewer production techniques, but without losing sight of quality, functionality and personality. We look for witty solutions and having fun doing so drives our creative process.

Stronger together

The men behind the brand, the designers Tjalle and Jasper, grew up in Bavel in the Dutch province Noord-Brabant. There they became friends at an early age, sharing many passions. Their biggest passion: building things with their hands. This passion led to both choosing to study industrial design. After graduating, the two went separate ways but stayed in contact. While participating in a design competition as a team, they discovered that they strengthen each other when they work together. That’s why in 2012 they decided to join forces: Van Tjalle and Jasper’s unique lighting for hotels was born!

Unique Lighting for Hotels: Towards the future

Our collection currently consists of candle holders, lighting, wall mirrors and wall shelves. We also make people happy with our Dooie Mus (Dead Sparrow). But it won’t stop there, because we are not done yet creating beautiful products. We are working hard to broaden our unique lighting for hotels range with new products coming out every year.
