Rug Doctor’s Journey traces back to 1972 when Roger Kent, our founder, constructed the very first Rug Doctor rug cleaning machine in his garage. From these modest beginnings, Rug Doctor has evolved into a global force in the professional and do-it-yourself carpet cleaning markets.

In the United States, our operations encompass a primary manufacturing facility in Fenton, Missouri, along with over 35 warehouse distribution points and service centres scattered across the nation. Additionally, we currently have more than 40 licensed distributors of Rug Doctor water extraction carpet cleaning products, each equipped with facilities and repair centres throughout the US. Originally headquartered in Fresno, California, we relocated to Plano, Texas, in 1998 which was a crucial moment in our growth as we aimed to become a major international brand.

Internationally, we maintain a hotel carpet cleaning product manufacturing facility in the United Kingdom, with warehouse distribution networks spanning across Canada, Puerto Rico, Australia, and over 20 other countries. Rug Doctor has firmly established itself as the global leader in carpet cleaning rentals. Our presence is extensive in the UK and Ireland, with our rug cleaning machines available at over 3,300 hire outlets. Proudly, around 90% of households in the UK are no more than a 10-minute drive away from their nearest Rug Doctor provider.
