Naturecan, founded in May 2019 by Andy Duckworth, the former CEO of Myprotein, and Paul Finnegan, is a global wellness brand focused on offering safe, effective and premium hemp-derived natural hotel CBD products as well as additional supplements such as vitamins and minerals. The company’s primary goal is to create products that help people to lead happier and healthier lives.
Naturecan offers an extensive and exclusive range of quality CBD products and hotel CBD health supplements. With websites live in over 40 countries worldwide, we use our global reach to deliver the potential benefits of CBD to a growing customer base.
All of Naturecan’s natural hotel CBD products are created using industry-leading technology and undergo rigorous testing practices with third parties in order to ensure product quality, customer safety and supply chain transparency.
Our CBD oil is a broad-spectrum distillate, with non-detectable levels of THC (0.01%). It is derived exclusively from certified organic US-grown hemp plants, which means that we never use isolates or any man-made synthetic material, and only ever use natural, plant-based CBD.
Our supply chain partners have invested in market-leading extraction and purification technologies. With their help, we have created a wide range of CBD cosmetics for hotels to help consumers find a healthy, safe and effective solution to their needs.
Naturecan was delighted to join the Association for the Cannabinoid Industry (ACI) and the Centre for Medicinal Cannabis (CMC), as this will ensure that our hotel CBD health supplements are fully certified and regulated, and that we are continuously manufacturing the highest quality CBD products available on the market, without compromise.
Naturecan joined the ACI in 2019, a move which reinforces our commitment to supply chain transparency, as well as our proactive compliance with the FSA’s recent regulatory statement, which gave clarity to the UK’s CBD industry.
Naturecan are well-positioned to complete the process of novel food approval, and with the support of ACI, will reinforce their position as safe, high quality product innovators within the CBD space.
Naturecan is proud to be a member of the European Industrial Hemp Association. Representing the interests of hemp-producing and processing companies, the EIHA comprises over 200+ members across 22 EU states and 12 additional countries.
Established to monitor EU hemp-related policies, and to provide decision makers with accurate and reliable information relevant to our business, we’re delighted to support the voice of our industry as it continues to champion quality and safety for all CBD brands and our customers.
Our CBD oil is a broad-spectrum distillate with non-detectable levels of THC (0.01%). It is derived exclusively from certified organic US-grown hemp plants. We never use isolates or any man-made synthetic material – only ever natural, plant-based CBD.
We source our CBD from Oregon, USA for three key reasons:
(1) The American CBD market is the most well developed and mature market in the world.
(2) American producers grow the best raw materials, because they are more experienced and technologically-advanced than producers in other countries.
(3) Oregon’s mediterranean climate and rich organic soils provide optimal growing conditions for hemp plants.
Once our hemp plants have been tested, qualified for use and harvested, they undergo three key extraction processes:
1. CO2 Extraction
Pressurized carbon dioxide is passed through each plant in order to extract the desired CBD compounds and other phytochemicals. This creates a CBD concentrate (or crude oil) that is clean, high quality, and safe to consume. While most other CBD brands stop their extraction process at this stage, we go a step further and use chromatography to remove any impurities and inessentials from the end product.
We use an advanced purification system developed by RotaChrom called Centrifugal Partition Chromatography (CPC) to separate the desired compounds (such as CBD and other cannabinoids) from impurities and to remove as much THC as possible. This produces a concentrated output with non-detectable levels of THC (0.01%).
The concentrate is further refined by distillation. This process allows the oil to retain minor cannabinoids and other hemp phytochemicals (which can enhance its effectiveness through the entourage effect) while removing any compounds, such as lipids, waxes, flavonoids and chlorophyll, which may negatively affect the taste, consistency and purity of the end product.
Once distilled, the oil contains 90-95% CBD and at least 5% other, high quality minor cannabinoids, such as CBG, CBC, and CBDA. This rich and potent mix of phytochemicals and cannabinoids, with non-detectable levels of THC, makes this oil a highly desirable core ingredient for CBD products.
The final step is the addition of organic MCT oil (extracted from coconut) as our carrier oil. We use MCT oil because it improves the bioavailability of CBD (the amount of CBD that enters the bloodstream) and has a mild taste
1. Labdoor Accredited
Naturecan’s CBD oil has been independently tested by Labdoor, a company that helps customers to make informed buying choices by verifying the accuracy of label claims and testing supplements for harmful ingredients.
Our oil received the highest possible rating (A+) from Labdoor, with non-detectable levels of THC (<0.01%) and zero heavy metal (lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury) and microbial (yeast, mold, coliforms and E. coli) contamination, providing further confirmation of the integrity and quality of our product.
2. TÜV SÜD tested
Naturecan’s CBD oil has been certified by another independent testing partner called TÜV SÜD. With an expansive portfolio of testing and certification services, TÜV SÜD protects customers by providing safety and security solutions and inspiring trust in technological developments.
TÜV SÜD confirmed that our CBD products contain non-detectable levels of THC (MOQ: 0.01%). They also verified that each bottle contains the declared amount of CBD and that our oil contains additional cannabinoids, such as CBG, which increase the effectiveness of the oil through the entourage effect.
3. Eurofins certified
Eurofins, a world-leading independent laboratory for food, environment, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products testing, has also certified Naturecan’s CBD oil. Eurofins provides customers with accurate data and expert advice to enable them to make the right decisions when it comes to choosing safe and quality products.
Eurofins tested many of our natural hotel CBD products, including the 40% CBD oil, confirming that they contain non-detectable levels of THC (MOQ: 0.0025%). They also provided further confirmation that our oil contains other cannabinoids like CBG, and that each bottle contains the declared amount of CBD.
Like all ethical and responsible companies in the consumer health and wellness sector, Naturecan has the safety of their customers at the forefront of their minds.
Consumers put their trust in companies like ours, and often order nutritional and health supplements directly online. Therefore, it is our responsibility to carefully select our ingredients (both active and inactive), ensuring that they comply with current safety regulations and are independently tested to high standards. All responsible sellers must also inform their customers of any precautions or contraindications for CBD use.
Extensive third-party testing is already a fundamental part of our process. From its inception, Naturecan has ensured that all of their CBD cosmetics for hotels undergo a six-stage testing process in order to guarantee customer safety, ingredient quality and product purity. We look forward to building on this essential process alongside the FSA through our Novel Food Licensing.
