We are happy to announce our newest artist at Sorelle, photographer Susan Johnson! Susan’s collection of photography encompasses several different subjects, like tennis, golf, and playful views of the coast, all of which are tied together by stark lines, clean compositions, and vibrant colors.

Susan Johnson grew up in New Zealand before attending University in the United States on a tennis scholarship. After many moves, Susan now calls Nashville, Tennessee home with her husband and three children.

A lover of clean, simple images, Susan has a natural eye for composition and content. Ask her and she will tell you that she is happiest traveling with her family, exploring new destinations with her camera in hand.

“Susan brings something entirely new to the table at Sorelle,” says Owner, Sandy Pelletier. “Her photographs of tennis and beach balls suspended in mid-air help the viewer hang on to a moment frozen in time that we’d likely never have otherwise, providing stillness and order to a scene that would, in reality, be very much in flux. Not only am I thrilled to introduce artwork with sports themes like tennis and golf, but her body of work as a whole is preppy, nostalgic, elevated, and to put it simply, fun.”

Susan Johnson’s photography prints are available on metal with a float mount – this means that it appears to “float” slightly off the wall, and no bolts are visible in the corners for a highly contemporary aesthetic. Prints on metal go through a process called dye sublimation, which allows the metal to absorb the ink directly. Because of this process, which infuses the color into the coating of the metal rather than placing it on the surface, a metal print is highly durable, scratch-resistant, and won’t fade.
