The amount of time we spend at the computer or at our desk has increased signifi cantly in recent decades. This puts particular strain on the human eye. LIGHT + LAMP It is therefore important to create suitable conditions for close-up work in order to minimize the strain on the eyes as much as possible: An optimal distance between the eyes and the work surface by means of an adapted height and homogeneous wide-area illumination of the gripping area at all times of the day. A bright workplace with daylight and glare-free surfaces are ideal conditions. To prevent the light from being obscured by your own shadow, the light should come from the front or from the left for right-handers and from the right for left-handers. With artificial light, care must also be taken to ensure homogenous illumination and sufficient brightness.
