Since 2001, we have used entirely sustainable and renewable raw materials to produce a premium, long-lasting product; one that we are proud to supply to some of the leading hotels of the world.
Our Luxury Natural Eco Hotel Mattresses Range is made by hand from natural fibres. Through carefully constructed compositions of our raw materials, we can adjust the finished feel of the mattress.
The materials we use for the eco-hotel mattresses include organic coir, cashmere, natural latex, organic Devon lambswool and mohair, with the option of hand nested pocket springs.
All of our natural fibres are chosen not only for their comfort giving qualities but also for their beneficial health properties. We add an extract of essential oils (lavender, lemon and eucalyptus) to make the mattresses anti-dust mite, anti-bed bug and anti-moth.
Naturalmat’s stylish eco-hotel beds and bed bases are built to endure, combining robust and sustainable materials with rigorous hand-made production processes to ensure the finest quality.
We can make eco-hotel beds to any design, as in recent commissions for all the bespoke beds at the Qbic Hotel in Shoreditch, London.
Naturalmat are pioneers in natural fibre technology.
Our organic lambswool comes from Soil Association certified farms in Devon, Dorset and Somerset. We buy direct from organic farmers, to ensure the highest quality. Wool is also a natural fire retardant so all of our tuftings are chemical-free.
Coir (coconut fibre) is a key ingredient in our mattresses. Only Naturalmat use certified organic coir and we get it from the only certified organic coconut plantation in the world.
Coir ensures unbeatable airflow, superior spring and excellent support to promote healthy, natural sleep.
All of our cotton is grown according to fair trade policies and is certified to GOTS standards.
Cotton has a unique ability to ventilate and draw away humidity and perspiration, enabling the body to keep an even temperature.
All of our eco-hotel mattresses and eco-hotel beds are made by hand in our purpose-built factory in Topsham, on the banks of the River Exe, Devon. We believe that people, not machines, make a superior, longer-lasting product. Our team of craftspeople ensure every stitch, every fibre, every tufting button and every cover is painstakingly created, teased and checked.
