What level of customisation do you offer for your retro phones? Can hotels personalise the look or functionality of the phones to match their unique branding and décor?
OPIS Technology, we understand the importance of maintaining a cohesive and distinctive brand image, especially in the hospitality industry. We offer a significant level of customisation for our retro phones to ensure they can be seamlessly integrated into a hotel’s unique branding and décor. This includes options for customising the colour, materials, and finish of the phones. Hotels can choose from a variety of color palettes and finishes to match their interior design.
Additionally, we can customise the functionality of the phones to meet specific operational needs. This might include custom button configurations, integrated logos, and bespoke features such as direct-dial buttons for specific services like room service or the front desk. Our goal is to provide a product that not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the hotel rooms but also improves the overall guest experience.
What future trends do you foresee in the hospitality industry regarding in-room technology and guest communication systems?
In the coming years, we anticipate several key trends in the hospitality industry related to in-room technology and guest communication systems. The future will largely be about enhancing the connectivity of customers’ devices with the network and local services, such as ticket ordering, food and beverage delivery, and taxi services—essentially streamlining tasks that are usually handled by calling the receptionist. We see now a shift towards the connectivity of phones to local networks via VoIP instead of traditional analog systems. Additionally, there will be an increase in the use of landline-style phones that connect to WiFi networks, providing greater flexibility and mobility. Another exciting development is the rise of landline-style mobile phones that do not require a local network at all. OPIS is proud to be a leader in this field, offering innovative solutions that enhance guest convenience and satisfaction.
Are there any plans to expand your product line beyond phones, perhaps into other retro-themed hotel amenities or gadgets?
We have already made strides in expanding our product line beyond phones. Currently, we offer a variety of retro-style lighting products including ceiling, floor, and table lamps. Additionally, our range includes wooden wristwatches and retro-style receiver handsets for mobile phones, specifically tailored for hotel gift shops.

Can you describe the process your team goes through to innovate and develop new products? What stages do you go through from concept to final product?
Firstly, we actively collect customer feedback through our database, which serves as a foundation for improving existing products and identifying new opportunities.Secondly, we conduct regular scheduled brainstorming meetings to generate and refine new ideas. These sessions allow us to harness collective creativity within our team.
Once promising ideas emerge, we initiate thorough market research to assess their potential viability and market demand.
Additionally, we gather valuable insights from our reseller shops and volume customers to gauge their opinions and expectations regarding the proposed products.
Upon approval of a concept, the project enters the development phase. This includes detailed design work encompassing both hardware and software aspects, prototyping, and rigorous testing such as reliability tests.
Before proceeding to full-scale production, we conduct pilot runs to ensure that the product meets our stringent standards for quality and performance.
To further validate our products, we distribute free samples to our lead customers, soliciting their honest feedback and insights.
Only after successfully passing all these stages and receiving positive feedback from our customers do we proceed to mass production, ensuring that every product meets the highest standards of excellence and reliability.
