How does Vélosophy’s “one-for-one” model, where you donate a bicycle for every one sold, directly impact communities and the environment?
Through our One-for-One donation program i.e we provide a young schoolgirls with a bike, for every Vélosophy sold – we’re able to create following impact:

- Reduced schoolgirl’s commute time by more than 33%
- Increased punctuality by 66%
- Increased schoolgirls’ performances/results by 60%
In addition to these statistics we’ve learned that a number of girls using our bicycles also feel an increased sense of control, improved self-image, greater bargaining power within their households and increased pro-sociality, meaning they are more willing to help a friend join local clubs and possess improved leadership knowledge.
What are the key materials used in crafting your bicycles, and how do they contribute to the overall sustainability of your product?
We are one of the best designed bicycles on the market and we argue that as a combination of form, function, quality, sustainability, social responsibility and a fair price. Our bikes are sustainably made out of 95% recycled aluminium and responsibly sourced in Europe. One of very few bicycle brands using recycled aluminium at all, and the only one offering a level of 95% recycled aluminium. Through our sourcing scheme we are actively preventing landfill waste, lowering greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to a closed and resourceful material loop.
How can you customise your products for hotels, in terms of design, branding, or special features?
We offer our hotel partners an exclusive possibility in terms of our Vélosophy SMU (Specially Made Units). This gives the hotel a chance to personalize the bikes. In its simplest form we design a branded basket sign and in the most ambitious end we offer our bikes in any frame/basket color the hotel wants.
Are there any exciting new developments or trends you’d like to share with us?
Part of us striving to be the most sustainable choice we have recently launched a repurchase program for previously used Vélosophy bikes. The price is 900€/bike (shipping/transport is on the seller).
