  1. What inspired the founding of Octavium, and how has the company evolved since its inception?

Octavium began its journey as a manufacturer and distributor specializing in hotel room audio solutions. Our inaugural product was a compact Bluetooth audio streamer, boasting features such as a volume cap and a PIN code, alongside a customizable Bluetooth name typically featuring the hotel’s name and room number. Initially, only ceiling speakers, which we design and manufacture in-house, were paired with the streamer. The discreet placement of the streamer ensured an unobtrusive audio experience. Subsequently, we expanded our product line to include various concealed speakers, offering a completely invisible audio solution that guarantees a remarkable guest experience.

Our primary clientele comprised (mainly Dutch) 3, 4, and 5-star hotels. Recognizing the common issue of smartphone battery depletion during audio streaming, we promptly introduced Qi chargers tailored for hotel room use. These chargers are seamlessly integrated, theft-resistant, easy to install, and devoid of disruptive sound indicators. Over time, our focus shifted towards enhancing in-room guest comfort, leading us to introduce additional amenities such as the smart bed light, aiding nighttime navigation, and innovative bed lights with integrated charging capabilities. All our products are designed to elevate the guest experience, contributing to high review scores on platforms like Booking and TripAdvisor.

 

  1. Can you provide an overview of Octavium’s mission and the key innovations it brings to the hotel and hospitality industry?

At Octavium, our mission is to assist hotels in achieving superior review scores by offering innovative, meticulously designed products for hotel rooms that are both practical and cost-effective that enhance comfort in hotel rooms. All our products are quick and easy to install, equipped with plugs, and tailored for use in hotel rooms. Despite requiring only, a limited investment, they have a significant impact on the guest experience. Octavium’s products guarantee the WOW factor, exceeding guest expectations in terms of room comfort. The products of Octavium demonstrably contribute to optimizing the comfort score on Booking.com and TripAdvisor. The Comfort Score largely contributes to the total score on Booking.com and TripAdvisor.

 

  1. How does Octavium differentiate itself from competitors in the market, and what do you believe gives the company a competitive edge?

Octavium distinguishes itself through its adaptability as a small company, consistently surpassing expectations. As a Dutch firm, we prioritize affordability, ensuring our offerings remain within budgetary constraints while delivering exceptional quality.

  1. Can you share any upcoming projects or initiatives that Octavium is currently working on?

We have collaborated with various hotels and holiday parks, including multiple establishments within the Van der Valk chain in The Netherlands. Notably, at the new Van der Valk Eindhoven Best, we provided hotel room audio and Qi chargers for all 210 rooms. Additionally, we are currently fulfilling orders for the fourth CityHub location in Reykjavik, Iceland. Our responsibilities encompass audio systems and charging functionalities for each hub, aligning with CityHub’s aim to introduce its innovative concept to Iceland’s bustling capital by September 2024.
