First question, let’s talk about how and when Percipient was founded. Can you share a bit about the inception of your business?

Absolutely. Percipient was founded back in 2003. The initial team had been working together on Oracle software and felt that the company they were with wasn’t prioritising customer care. So, we decided to start Percipient with the core principle of putting customers first. For the first decade, we primarily worked with Oracle, focusing on mid-market clientele. However, a shift in Oracle’s focus led us to become a Sage business partner, initially with Sage X3 and now focusing exclusively on Sage Intacct. Over the last five years, we’ve specialised in providing hospitality solutions with this
technology, ensuring that customer care remains at the forefront of everything we do.

Could you highlight some significant milestones or projects that have contributed to Percipient’s growth and reputation?

Certainly. Over the last decade, our partnership with Sage has been pivotal. We’ve been recognised as part of Sage’s Platinum Club, which consists of the top 30 elite partners globally. We’ve also received awards such as Intacct Partner of the Year and Industry Partner of the Year for our work in hospitality. With over 70 customers using Sage Intacct, particularly in the hospitality and leisure sector, we’ve established ourselves as a go-to partner for Sage solutions in the hospitality industry.

How do you stay ahead of the curve in terms of technology advancements and industry trends?

Our focus on cloud-based solutions like Sage Intacct allows us to leverage quarterly updates from Sage, ensuring our customers always have access to the latest features and capabilities without cumbersome manual updates. Additionally, our technology stack facilitates seamless integration with other hotel software, streamlining processes and enhancing efficiency. Beyond technology, our team’s industry knowledge and ongoing training ensure that we’re always equipped to provide innovative solutions tailored to our clients’ needs.

It sounds like your approach is comprehensive. When it comes to staffing, do you prioritise hiring individuals with a technology background, or do you provide training internally?

We’ve found that many of our team members naturally come from technology backgrounds, often coupled with experience in finance. However, our training programs, particularly for Sage Intacct, are robust enough to bring individuals up to speed within a matter of weeks. We value a diverse range of skill sets and prioritise individuals who are adaptable and customer-focused.

Shifting focus to how your services benefit hospitality businesses, could you elaborate on the advantages of using your accounting systems?

Absolutely. Sage Intacct offers best-in-class functionality tailored specifically for the hospitality industry with a chart of accounts configured to USALI standards. From customisable dashboards to seamless integration with other systems, our solution empowers businesses to access critical data effortlessly. Automation features, such as accounts payable processing, further enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Moreover, our system provides actionable insights that drive operational
improvements and enhance the guest experience, ultimately leading to increased profitability and guest satisfaction.

What sets Percipient apart from competitors in the industry?

We believe our combination of technology expertise, industry experience, and unwavering commitment to customer care sets us apart. Our team’s deep understanding of both finance and technology allows us to deliver tailored solutions that address our customers unique challenges. Moreover, our dedication to ongoing support and guidance ensures that our customers can maximise the value of our solutions well beyond implementation.
