What feedback have you received from clients regarding the impact of your beds on their sleep experience?

Feedback from our customers has been particularly complementary of late, we provide pocketed springs for support and comfort from the natural fillings, so customers have generally slept longer and deeper providing them with the rest they need to start the next day with zest and enthusiasm.

Could you provide insights into the variety of products you offer and the customization options available to clients?

We make all our products by hand, including our bespoke range of handcrafted mattresses, pocketed divans, bed bases, headboards, and stylish bedsteads. As we make everything in our factory in Devon, we can offer bespoke sizes and designs to suit the discerning tastes but also the size intricacies of antique beds, listed buildings and more frequently when needing to fit a bed under eaves and lowering headboards or choosing different height bases or legs.   There is a standard range of fabrics, a premium range as well, but we also offer customer’s own material too (subject to the FR regulations and testing).

Can you elaborate on the artisanal techniques employed in creating your mattresses?

Yes, we carefully mark the mattress borders by hand ready for our hand side stitchers to meticulously stitch from 2 rows up to 6 rows of side stitching. Using natural twine, we use a double ended needle, and each stitch secures around the 2 pocketed springs on the border edge. This provides you with perfect border strength, edge to edge support and prolongs the life of your mattress.  After this process, we hand tease the natural materials onto the mattress using horsehair, Dartmoor wool from the family farm and cotton along with luxury fibres like cashmere, silk, and alpaca dependent on the model.

What is the significance of using only natural materials in your products?

Generous amounts of the finest natural fillings are used within our mattress providing the comfort your body needs.  Natural fillings absorb moisture and take it away from the body whilst sleeping to allow peaceful rest without being disturbed.  We use hand teased Dartmoor Wool throughout our range. It comes from the owner’s family farm and is therefore fully traceable lowering the carbon footprint for the products.  It is sheared from the sheep and taken for thorough cleaning then returned to the factory for hand teasing into our beds. Dartmoor wool is less likely to be a breeding ground for bacteria, dustmites and the like. The exterior of the fibre is water resistant, but the interior of the fibre can absorb up to 30% of its weight.  As moisture is absorbed by the wool, it moves away from the skin, keeping the sleeper comfortably cool and dry. Wool regulates moisture and heat extremely well, keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer, resulting in better sleep.
