On 18th September 2021 we celebrate World Bamboo Day to raise awareness of bamboo globally. Bamboo is an excellent renewable resource, it’s sustainable as it grows extremely fast (bamboo is the fastest growing plant on the planet!) and produces a high yield. Generally, bamboo can be harvested and used in 5-6 years and plants replenish quickly once harvested.

Bamboo naturally degrades and provides natural oxygen which is one of its biggest environmental benefits. In fact, bamboo releases 35% more oxygen into the atmosphere than an equivalent mass of trees! * Bamboo is extremely resilient and adaptable – through rapid growth and extensive root system it can prevent soil erosion, nurture wildlife and clean the air. **

Another unique characteristic of bamboo is its versatility. Due to the strength of bamboo structure, it’s often used in construction industry (some species are stronger than steel!). Other uses include production of household goods, musical instruments, textiles and even act as a food source.

Discover our new Signature Accessories Collection which is made from highly sustainable bamboo and is encased in a recyclable, FSC carton.
