Papoutsanis has a strong presence in the hospitality sector, providing personal care amenities to hotels worldwide. How does the company ensure that its products meet the diverse needs and preferences of hotel guests?

Papoutsanis is a Greek Manufacturing Company with 154 years of experience in the personal care industry. The company owns one of the largest Production Units in Southeastern Europe with state-of-the-art, vertically integrated automated production systems. It holds a leading position in hotel amenities production in Greece. Its high-end quality products are trusted by most of the established hotels for their guests, in Greece and abroad. Papoutsanis is constantly expanding its exports with a strong presence in leading hotel chains worldwide. Our portfolio has 3 different categories of hotel products, which cover different needs in the market:

  • Mediterranean Treasures
  • Experiential Skincare

Through these categories, we have the flexibility to enter partnerships with global hotel groups and many small boutique hotels both in Greece and abroad.

With the rise of boutiques and eco-conscious hotels, how does Papoutsanis adapt its product range and marketing strategies to cater to these niche markets?

Recently we presented to the hotel market, a new range of products that is an innovation not only for the Greek market but also for the global. It is the UpC series. Our NEW hotel range aims to enhance the sustainable character of hotels by reducing their waste and promoting the idea of a circular economy through the collection and management of espresso waste. Utilizing this residue, the extract is created and added to the hotel amenities, whose ingredients enhance the microbiome of the skin. It is Proposed for Boutique Hotels and Hotels that care about zero waste/upcycled economy.

Can you discuss any recent developments or upcoming projects that Papoutsanis is particularly excited about?

Indicatively, we mention the company’s ability to produce synthetic solid cosmetics, which is of particular interest to customers who are particularly sensitive to sustainable development and plastic reduction. In fact, at Papoutsanis we encourage our customers to prefer 100% plastic-free packaging of solid cosmetics and soaps, through the possibility we now have to produce them, following investments in our packaging lines. Besides, we have already introduced such proposals in the market, starting from the hotel sector with solid shampoo and solid shower gel. These products have a much smaller environmental footprint compared to their bottled counterparts, since the bars use less packaging material, no plastic; they are lighter and smaller, and therefore easier to transport and store, and require less energy to produce.
