14 other companies were no match for the lighting manufacturer, when Franklite scooped up the Artistic Award at the Society of Light and Lighting’s Ready Steady Light 2021. Held at Rose Bruford College, each company was tasked to illuminate a specific area of the campus.

The dynamic team included Paul Robinson – Projects Manager, Ian Cathcart – UK National Sales Manager, Julian Craven – Project Development Assistant and Michael Eccles – Account Manager who were given the task of illuminating a rear gateway with a mysterious, theatrical theme.

The team’s objective was not only to illuminate the pathway towards but beyond the gate as well. First the team installed a cool white LED fitting into the lock box of the old wrought iron gate. Set to create an autumnal scene, traditional floodlights and filters were used to illuminate the pathway and surrounding foliage leading to the gate with an orange glow creating a warm, inviting entrance.

The remaining floodlights along with red and yellow filters were used to enhance the pathway in the distance behind the gate inviting observes to walk through. From the observation point judges were drawn to the Franklite installation to see what was beyond the gate………….enter if you dare.

It was this well executed installation that resulted in the Franklite team being awarded the Artistic Award, one of three awards presented that evening.
