Hotel Suppliers reporter interviews Jack Doolan, Director of Flightcase Bars, following the announcement of their partnership with the Trade Drinks Expo 2023.

For those who don’t know, who are Flightcase Bars?

Flightcase Bars supply mobile custom bar units for use in areas where a traditional bar set-up isn’t possible, or when a portable hotel bar needs to be set-up for an event. Easily wheeled in and out of almost any location, they are set up in minutes and provide a draught bar solution in areas where one would not usually be available. From hotel rooms to conference suites, our draught mobile bar units can be positioned anywhere, to bring draught drinks to you!

Congratulations on the announcement of your partnership with the Trades Drinks show! Talk to me about the partnership.

Thanks! This year we have partnered up with the Trade Drinks Expo – one of the UK’s biggest events dedicated to maximising drinks sales for on-trade and off-trade professionals. The show is a ‘meeting of minds’ as it were, with all the key players from the drinks industry coming together for two days of networking, exhibitions and talks. There will be keynote talks from industry leaders with invaluable knowledge and advice as well as the opportunity to connect with other drinks companies from across the globe.

In your announcement you say that you will be providing bars for the show’s new feature ‘Trial on Tap’- tell me more about this.

The Trade Drinks Expo has launched a new feature at their shows called ‘Trial on Tap’. This feature allows attendees to taste and test samples from a range of drink brands and breweries. Where we come in is that we are providing the bars from which the drinks will be poured to create a fun and exciting drink-tasting experience.

What are you most looking forward to at this show?

Trying the beers! There will be lots of different breweries attending the show and utilising the ‘Trial on Tap’ feature to showcase their beers. We rarely experience issues with the bars which means there is more time for ensuring the quality of the beers – essential stuff, haha! It’ll also be good to see and catch up with friends from the industry. We’re still very new in the game, but this will be our third big exhibition, so hopefully a few people recognise us by now.

Taste testing is very important! When and where is the show?

The show is being held on the 10th and 11th October at the ExCel London – a wonderful building that often acts as a hub for all these great hospitality events. Tickets are free for attendees and are available to book on the Trade Drinks Expo website.
