Taku+Taku have a number of exciting events coming up where you will have a chance to see their work up close and personal.

Jessica, you’re set to appear on a German TV show on October 6th. Could you tell us more about the show and what viewers can expect from your feature?

I’m excited to be featured on Ostseereport, a popular German Sunday evening travel show. The show focuses on life around the Baltic Sea, and for the episode about Bornholm they wanted to highlight the lives and work of various residents, including me. The crew followed me for a day to showcase our unique printing process, which we use to create original art for our products. They captured the entire experience—from printing a fish to enjoying it as a meal with family and friends.

The episode will air on NDR on Sunday, October 6th at 18:00 CET, and typically, around one million viewers tune in live. For those who miss it, the show will also be available on YouTube, where you can apply English subtitles, as the episode itself is in German. We will share a link to this YouTube film on our listing with Hotel-Suppliers.

Will you be showcasing any specific pieces from your collection during the TV appearance? Can you give us a sneak peek?

During filming, I printed two types of local fish—a turbot and a smoked herring. They also shot footage of me in the studio surrounded by some of our products and decor, featuring various fish, plants, and trees. I do have a few behind-the-scenes images from the day of filming, but like everyone else, I won’t know which pieces made the final cut until the episode airs!

In November and December, Lisa will be the featured artist at the prestigious gallery at Ocean Reef Club in Florida. Can you share how this collaboration came about?

The Ocean Reef Club loves to represent local nature-inspired art to feature in their gallery, and after seeing my work, they were happy to offer space to us. They loved how my pieces reflect the beauty of the natural world, particularly the sea life that resonates with their members and location. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase my work in such an exclusive and iconic setting.

How will your products be featured in this gallery exhibition? Are there any specific themes or pieces that will be highlighted?

This exhibition will mainly feature my framed original artworks, some of which are also reflected in our decor and product designs. I will be highlighting prints of local Florida fish, including mahi-mahi, African pompano, mutton snapper, and sailfish, along with octopus prints created during my travels in Europe. The show will also include local botanicals like frangipani, as well as pieces from Taku+Taku’s Graceful Octopus fine bone china collection.

All original pieces will be available for purchase—it’s not just an exhibit. The show runs from November 12th to January 4th at the Gallery, Ocean Reef Club in the Florida Keys.

For those interested in more of her work, Lisa’s gallery and store in Islamorada, in the Florida Keys is open year-round, offering original art, prints, soft furnishings, and products from our Taku+Taku signature collections. Gyotaku by Lisa Lee, 81641 Old Highway, Islamorada, FL 33036. Drop by anytime you are in this beautiful area of the world.
